//01

About the service
Libre Path Support makes federal habeas paperwork accessible to families who can’t wait, and can’t afford private legal representation, while their loved one is in ICE detention.

We are not lawyers. We do not give legal advice and we do not act for you. We pave a path to bring your loved one home: a self-guided intake that produces a printable, mail-ready petition packet.
If you have the time and resources to work with a licensed attorney or legal aid organization, please do. If you choose to file pro se, this tool makes the paperwork less overwhelming. You do the work; the path is paved.

Common grounds people raise
Questions, answered.
Still unsure? Email librepathsupport@gmail.com.
Most often the detained person signs their own petition (pro se). In some circumstances a family member can sign as next friend. The intake asks which applies. If you are unsure, we strongly encourage speaking with a licensed attorney or legal aid organization before filing.
Yes. Federal habeas petitions can be filed in any U.S. District Court with jurisdiction over the place of detention. The service is available whichever state your loved one is held in, and the packet is tailored to that federal district.
Federal habeas petitions require specific information about identity, custody, prior immigration proceedings and the basis for challenging detention. The more complete your intake, the more accurate the petition. Plan to complete it in one sitting.
Your case answers stay in your browser and are never sent to our servers. An encrypted recovery copy stays on this device for up to seven days. Payments are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS and SOC 2 certified). We keep payment records, not case answers.
Free legal aid is available. We strongly encourage contacting CLINIC (cliniclegal.org), the National Immigration Justice Center, the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project or your local legal aid society. If you have demonstrated financial hardship and still want to use our service, email librepathsupport@gmail.com.
Commonly raised grounds are shown as general information, not advice, and nothing is pre-selected. You select the grounds and write the facts; the software places your words on the official forms. Court rulings change often, so check recent rulings or ask a lawyer before filing.
No. Libre Path Support is not a law firm. We are a self-help document preparation tool. There are no attorneys on staff, no one represents anyone, and no legal advice is given. You choose the grounds and write the facts; the software places your words on the official forms. You, or your loved one, sign and file the packet yourselves.
The fee pays for the use of our intake and document-generation system, the auto-population of your personalized petition into a print-ready PDF, identification of the correct U.S. District Court, electronic delivery of the completed PDF, and plain-language filing instructions. It does not pay for legal advice, court filing fees or representation of any kind.
No. We make no guarantees about any outcome. We are not lawyers, we cannot predict what a court will do, and we cannot promise the petition will succeed. The decision to file, what to include and the outcome of the case are not within our control.
At the end of the intake you go straight to checkout for your package. Once payment confirms, the software places your grounds and facts on your personalized petition (and Form I-246, if Complete). Your print-ready PDF appears on screen with step-by-step filing instructions. You print, sign and mail it to the U.S. District Court yourself. We do not file anything with the court.
The court assigns a case number and the government must respond. Federal courts can sometimes appoint counsel for indigent habeas petitioners, depending on the judge, the district and the petition itself. We cannot promise this will happen. This is general background, not legal advice.
